Bienvenidos a Barcelona y Granada... and Megan!

After a long winter break, it was such a great way to end it by having a visitor... Megan! Despite travel difficulties, she eventually made it over to Seville...only to be followed by a flight to Barcelona (her fourth) almost immediately--thank god for no lost luggage! We took a later flight and arrived to our hotel in Barcelona and did some walking (well, lots) around the city. Despite there being a 1am curfew, we still were able to find something to eat and rest up for our full day.

Palacios Nazarés in Granada under the stars!

We started our first full day by going to Park Guell, taking our Cheetah Girls-inspired pics and admiring the view and the beautiful structures made by Gaudí. It had the most amazing views and despite being a lot of uphill, the view was well-worth the hike.

We ventured through the city and found the Sagrada Familia and Casa Batlló, which have been on my bucket list for a long time. Though still under construction, it was such an incredible site to see--not to mention the KFC just steps away from it, feels just like home.

After exploring Barcelona and eating far too many crepes, we headed to Granada for two days which, though BCR is hard to beat, is my favorite city in Spain--and you'll see why. On our first night, we took a nighttime tour of the Alhambra, one of the oldest buildings in Spain with the best view of the city at all times, but especially at night.

The next day, we toured the city bocadillos in hand, and watched the sun set over the city from the Mirador de San Nicolás--one of my core memories from when I visited Spain in 2016. We finished the night with a traditional Moroccan-style dinner at Alhamra (not to be confused with the Alhambra...) as Granada is heavily influenced by Arab style. We even poured our own mint tea, truly authentic!

As customary, our final leg was to show Megan my city--Jerez! Though we were a bit groggy from the travels, I managed to show Megan the city and give her the true slice of life in Andalusia before she headed back to the U.S. Until the next trip!
